Well, it seems that Tumblr have only taken into account the current, major Web browsers when re-coding their interface, and poor old Opera has been neglected. Nothing unusual about that – Opera often gets overlooked by the Internet’s big players. But what it means in this case is that if you want to return to the old Tumblr create post / upload interface, you can, provided you use the Opera browser. The current version of Opera (12.16) is available via the link below…

Simply download and install Opera, fire it up, log into Tumblr, and you have your old upload screen back...
Just like magic - Tumblr's old 2012-style posting/uploading dialogue appears when you use the Opera browser.
Installing Opera won’t stop you using any of your other browsers. And if you want to switch back to the new Tumblr posting interface again, simply return to your ‘mainstream’ browser - Firefox or Chrome, for example.
I don’t know how long this loophole will last, but if any further re-coding closes it off, I’ve also found that using old versions of some browsers will call up the former Tumblr upload dialogue too. Internet Explorer 8, for instance. You can get your hands on a wide range of old browser versions at Old Apps, if the need arises.
